Description
PLEASE NOTE: We sell cuttings and bare root plants only. If you see a picture of a large plant in the listing it is for illustration purposes only and not what you will receive. Cuttings need to be placed in a container with water or moist soil till they root, bare root plants can be placed directly in the ground or containers and usually require daily watering till they are established. Some cuttings like succulents and cacti can be placed directly in the ground without rooting. Most cuttings do not have 100 percent success rate so we recommend you purchase a few to ensure success. Even some bare root plants will not give you 100 percent success rate after planting in the ground. Some plants are considered invasive in certain areas or provinces and the onus is on you to make sure you research the plant that you are purchasing to make sure it will work for you, your area and your landscape. Epipremnum aureum ‘Marble Queen’
The marble queen is a popular member of the pothos family. It features striking green and white variegated, heart shaped leaves and long, cascading vines. It makes a wonderful trailing or hanging plant from a tall shelf or pot. It prefers bright indirect light but can tolerate low light condition although the leaves will become more green than white in low light conditions.
Marble Queen is a fast grower under the right conditions, and can reach lengths of about 1.5 metres.
These plants are also often used in the aquarium where the roots of the plant is submerged in your aquarium allowing the stem to grow out and it will grow like a vine but you need to tie it to what ever you want to grow it on. It will do a good job of removing nitrates from your water improving water quality in your tank.
A cutting is usually one node with 1 – 2 leaves on. The roots will form from the node. A bare root plant is a cutting that we have already started the rooting process and roots are established already. The amount of roots each plant has varies and depends on what is available at any given time but there will be enough roots for you to pot the plant up straight away.
Chances of success of cuttings or bare root:
HIGH. This plant is very easy plant to propagate and will root very quickly in water or in soil, water is the preferred method for rooting cuttings as it is typically quicker and has higher success rate. Purchasing bare root will speed up the process but is not necessary for success. If you want to save money and are patient then purchase cuttings rather than bare root.
Plant your rooted cutting into a pot with well draining soil. After planting your bare root plant, water daily for 3 days and then after 3 days water when you feel the top layer of soil is dry.
