Description

PLEASE NOTE: We sell cuttings and bare root plants only. If you see a picture of a large plant in the listing it is for illustration purposes only and not what you will receive. Cuttings need to be placed in a container with water or moist soil till they root, bare root plants can be placed directly in the ground or containers and usually require daily watering till they are established. Some cuttings like succulents and cacti can be placed directly in the ground without rooting. Most cuttings do not have 100 percent success rate so we recommend you purchase a few to ensure success. Even some bare root plants will not give you 100 percent success rate after planting in the ground. Some plants are considered invasive in certain areas or provinces and the onus is on you to make sure you research the plant that you are purchasing to make sure it will work for you, your area and your landscape. Aeonium haworthii, commonly known as Haworth’s aeonium or pinwheel, is a species of succulent perennial plant native to the Canary Islands. It is popular as an ornamental plant due to its attractive rosettes of fleshy, spoon-shaped leaves and its ease of care. The plant has earned the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit.

It grows best in partial sun but can tolerate full sun too. Once rooted and established this is a great drought and frost tolerant plant, that needs minimal water. Be sure to let the water drain and let the soil dry out before watering again. It does great on rockwalls as well as in pots or just in the garden amongst other plants.

Chances of success of cuttings or bare root:
HIGH. This plant is very easy plant to propagate and will root even by sticking a cutting directly in the ground.  Bare root plants and cuttings have the same success rate but bare root plants will establish and grow quicker. Do not root cutting in water, soil rooting is best. When you plant your cutting in a pot or ground water it once and place it in a semi shade location for 3 – 4 days then water again after placing it in direct sun.
